The coronavirus (COVID-19) is a highly transmittable and pathogenic viral infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome which emerged in Wuhan, China and spread around the world. The virus was reported to be a member of the beta- group of coronaviruses.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused economic growth to slow and educational opportunities to diminish resulting to nation wild lockdown. Familys needs to ascertain how they might afford the necessary materials for their wards, books and fees needed to continue their education, including the introduction of sanitation safety protocols.
The use of Information and communication technology (ICT) could play a vital role in this process. Information and communications technologies are key elements of the universal response to crises, whether natural or man-made disasters. ICTs are fundamental enablers of the coordination mechanisms that educational organizations need to restore in order to assist the affected learners and instructors. The novel coronavirus pandemic resulted in a setback to these e-learning efforts; however, the deployment of ICT and e-learning, assisted by the international community can provide Nigeria with the opportunity to significantly re-construct its education system, modernize instructional methods and, widen and improve access to higher education.
Furthermore, enhancement of E- learning scheme. Education materials could be provided through television and radio station bolstered primary and secondary school students during the closure. For higher level students, both electronic and hard copies of lecture notes should be made available to registered students, but promises of internet-based distance education collapsed due to lack of resources and infrastructure. Schools will operate on a condensed academic schedule, which will eliminate at least some extra- curriculum subjects and holiday breaks. Quality issues have always been a limitation to use of social media. It is important that students get accurate information about the subject matter.
If sustained, these efforts could instill the culture of good personal and environmental hygiene and disease prevention to stop the bridge of Education in the country. This is especially through hand washing, which is a practice that is common but poorly followed in Nigeria
