Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, ex-Nigerian aviation minister
Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, says “southerners and Christians in Nigeria have finally been conquered and colonised” following President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointment of a new acting Chief Justice on Friday.
Recall that President Buhari had suspended Nigeria’s Chief Justice, Walter Onnoghen, over charges of false assets and non-assets declaration leveled against him before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
The President, who based his action on a directive he received from the CCT, had appointed Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed from Bauchi state as the new CJN.
The move has since earned the President widespread condemnation than commendation.
Reacting for the second time to Onnoghen’s suspension, Fani-Kayode said the southern region of the country is in dire need of courageous leaders that can liberate it.
He wrote on his verified Facebook page, “The President is a northern Muslim. The Senate President is a northern Muslim. The Speaker of the House is a northern Christian. The Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria and head of the Supreme Court is a northern Muslim. The President of the Court of Appeal is a northern Muslim. The Head of the Federal High Court is a northern Muslim.
“The operational heads and arms of ALL the security, military, paramilitary, investigative and intelligence agencies in the country except for the Navy are northern Muslims.
“Southerners and Christians in Nigeria have finally been conquered and colonised. They just don’t know it yet. The South urgently needs real leaders and not cowardly whimps to liberate it.”
