ABSU hostel Fire Disaster: Gov Ikpeazu to Give Financial relieve to Affected Students, See students Reactions
The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, has approved the immediate repairs of the section of Abiola Hostel, Abia State University(ABSU), recently gutted by fire, as well as, financial relieves to the Students officially allocated to the rooms affected by the fire.
Earlier today THE AGORA TV NEWS Contacted Bar Onyebuchi Ememanka the Chief Press Secretary to the governor of Abia state, to engage us on the genuinty of the news flying on all social platforms, which he declined to relay information but referred us to the school authority for confirmations.
The public relation unit confirmed the approval of the construction, and added that the construction had already started.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor E. Uche Ikonne, described the Governor’s kind gesture as an uncommon display of magnanimity, love for humanity and development of Education, particularly at this time of the Corona Virus pandemic.
Prof. Ikonne promised to ensure that the approved financial assistance is judiciously used for the repairs and in aid of the affected Students.
He expressed deep appreciation of the University Community for the Paternal show of love, and pledged its continued loyalty to the inspirational and Education-friendly Administration of Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.
However the student community have in so many differing ways reacted to this development.
